Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog. My name is Sándor Deák. I got my bachelor’s degree in molecular bionics and my master’s degree in pure mathematics. Although I like these areas, I realized that I like computer graphics, simulations, game technology, and low level programming much more. Since then, my goal is to learn about these topics as much as I can, research, implement interesting things, etc…
Nevertheless, according to what I’ve experienced so far working as a C++ programmer, I think my mindset is closer to a mindset of a mathematician than to a mindset of a programmer, I consider programming as a more tool-like thing than math. It is a very useful tool to implement inherently interesting ideas (perhaps coming from pure math) on a given piece of hardware. Therefore my blog isn’t mostly about programming (programming features, different programming paradigms and philosophical questions about the meaning of “beautiful code”, I definitely not qualified to do that). I’d like to mostly focus on interesting ideas and algorithms related to graphics and game-engines, and their efficient implementations on some hardware existing in the real world. And probably I”ll write about lot’s of other things, we’ll see!
I hope you will enjoy reading my blog, and maybe we can learn something from each other. If you have any questions, or would like me to post about some topics, feel free to contact me.
